Another help me build my sound system thread
#21
Thanks for helping me out with all the replies and suggestions everyone. I ended up ordering a rear seat lift from LMI Welding and went with the Dayton 408, dual Punch P2D2 8" subs, JL Audio RD9005 amp (900W 5CH), Infinity Ref 9633ix 6x9's for the front doors and Morel Maximo coax 6 for the rear doors. I don't have anything installed yet, still waiting on a few things in the mail.

Okay guys, I've now got most of the components and am planning out the wiring and will be doing the install next week after my work shift is done. So far I have installed the rear seat lift kit from LMI Welding, built a box for the two P2D2-8's, wired them for 2 ohms and installed in the box and also installed the Morel 6.5's in the rear doors and did some sound deadening in the rear of the cab. I almost pissed myself from laughing when I saw the stock speakers from the rear doors...what a joke...its no wonder the stock system sounds like poop! I am planning on building a panel out of MDF and mounting the amp, DSP, and crossovers and then mounting it behind the rear seat. Will I need to run new speaker wires from the crossovers to the A-pillar tweeters? I think I read somewhere that the stock tweeters get their signal from the same wire as the front door speakers so wouldn't using that wire make the crossover pointless? In the manual for the DSP-408 it says "When using the DSP in the SPK mode there may be a pop after turn off. Because of this we recommend the user install a capacitor inline with their tweeters to prevent any sort of damage." Of course it doesn't say or recommend what size capacitor to use, what do you guys use for this? TIA
JL Audio RD900/5, Dayton DSP-408, Infinity Ref 9630CX fronts and tweets, Morel Maximo Coax 6 rears

Quick tip- spend some serious time on the acoustical treatments of the front doors and door panels.
CLD- I am sure whatever you are using is fine
CCF- closed cell foam- used as a decoupler between panels-Vibro 228 mil
Acoustical Dampening blocks-https://www.parts-express.com/sonic-barrier-1-1-4-3-layer-acoustic-sound-damping-material-with-psa-18-x-24--260-535
Here's the capacitor you want:
