i don't think you will need the seat lift with a pair of 8s. i run a pair of jbl gto804 subs and they fit without any modification (other than removing all the jack stuff).

The 8" Punch P2 is real close to 5" deep. It might need a small seat lift to fit if he's going for a good ~2" gap for downfiring.

the jbl subs are 4 3/8", so we are only talking about a half inch different.

I'd be interested in seeing you box setup. I have the powerstage kit in my 14' supercab and it sometimes leave me wanting more, quite often actually

Okay guys, I've now got most of the components and am planning out the wiring and will be doing the install next week after my work shift is done. So far I have installed the rear seat lift kit from LMI Welding, built a box for the two P2D2-8's, wired them for 2 ohms and installed in the box and also installed the Morel 6.5's in the rear doors and did some sound deadening in the rear of the cab. I almost pissed myself from laughing when I saw the stock speakers from the rear doors...what a joke...its no wonder the stock system sounds like poop! I am planning on building a panel out of MDF and mounting the amp, DSP, and crossovers and then mounting it behind the rear seat. Will I need to run new speaker wires from the crossovers to the A-pillar tweeters? I think I read somewhere that the stock tweeters get their signal from the same wire as the front door speakers so wouldn't using that wire make the crossover pointless? In the manual for the DSP-408 it says "When using the DSP in the SPK mode there may be a pop after turn off. Because of this we recommend the user install a capacitor inline with their tweeters to prevent any sort of damage." Of course it doesn't say or recommend what size capacitor to use, what do you guys use for this? TIA

Sundown SD12 is a monster of a shallow mount. I'm going to run one in my Limited. The SD8 is ridiculous too, you can fit two of those

Regarding the tweeter channels, you are correct. From the crossovers you will run new tweeter channels to each a-pillar. Very easy to do.

Quick tip- spend some serious time on the acoustical treatments of the front doors and door panels.
CLD- I am sure whatever you are using is fine

CCF- closed cell foam- used as a decoupler between panels-Vibro 228 mil

Thanks dhmcfadin....just so I'm clear the resistor only needs to be installed on the positive leads to the tweeters correct?

Cool thanks, I'll order a couple of extras just in case I mess up with the soldering.
