Amp keeps goin into protection mode?
hey guys, i have a 200w kicker amp and 2 kicker comp 10's under the rear seat of my f150 ran to a pioneer 3200 double din and my amp keeps goin into safety mode right after i turn it to about 9 on volume. i checked the ground cause its connected to my seat bolt on the driver side rear bolt and i scraped to the bare metal and the connection is tight and i checked the connection to the battery and cleaned it and everything is tight. any ideas? thanks in advance for the help

How do the subs sound when your at level 8 on your volume? do you hear any funny noises from them? Its possible you fried a voice coil on a sub and now its basically a short which sends the amp in to protection mode. I'd check all your speaker connections after the amp also...make sure they are clean and well connected.
And as Gator said also...how's you wire it? parallel? series? how many ohms is the amp seeing?

Here is the manual for the comp 10s (assuming you have this same generation)... My guess is that you have them wired in series, which would be way too much load for a 200w amp at 8-12 ohms.... You should wire them in parallel instead.

I agree with the guys above, you are either overtaxing the amp, or you there is a problem with its powersupply.
