Amp Firewall Route

What is a location I can go threw the firewall with a amp cable? I am haven't a heck of a time finding one. I want to go through on the passanger side. The wire size is 2 gauge (running 2 amps). Thanks

The location for you to go through would be where ever you drill a hole ;) Get that drill out and make sure the battery is charged :)

Well at least thats what I did I got tired of hunting so there MAY be a hole but it is quicker to just make your own and then seal it up

There is a rubber gromet on the driver side that goes all the way through the fire wall, I believe it's right behind and a lil above the brake peadel. Run the hot wire under the plastics on the driver side and go under the carpet right behind the brake pedel. Remove the gromet and cut a slit in it with a razor blade and there is plenty of room to get it through. From there you can run it up through the hood or across the back of the firewall then over to the battery. hope this helps

I didnt see that you wanted to go through the pass side....drill a hole, good luck! ha

What i did was just run the wire over the front wheel well on passenger side, then actually UNDER the truck (I know, not supposed to...blah blah blah), however, you can run it right up against the frame through some support brackets, towards back door. Under the b-pillar molding on the back door, towards the back corner, is a rubber grommet that goes into the cab. I wrapped the entire thing in wire loom, zip tied it tight on a couple spots that had holes, and its working perfect.

I also looked for a place through the wall, but after feeling around, running some fish tape all over the place, tearing out the carpet under the passenger front seat, i gave up and went this route. I guess this only applies for supercrew though, i don't know which type of truck you have, so sorry if this was a waste of time.

For 2009/2010 there is a grommet directly below the main wiring harness grommet on the passenger side firewall.

Running Wire

The other reason I would like to do it through the passanger side is the 2 gauge wire is $6 a ft. The amps are going under the passanger rear seat to a dis. block and then 4 gauge going out to both amps side by side...sound like alot of work maybe I will just take it and get both amps installed and forget it. Sometimes its just better to pay the price and be done! :)

$6 a ft for 2 gauge? Geez. Go to KnuKonceptz.com and get 1/0 for cheaper. Also may I ask why you want to run 2 gauge? Is 4 gauge is usually pretty adequate. Whta are your system requirements?

I am running two JL Audio EX amps one 600/1 and the other 400/4. Main wire from battery 2 gauge to a distribution block with (2) 60 amp fuses then 4 gauge off the block to each amp. All wiring used will be "Streetwires" according to their wiring specs. Zero noise patch cables

I gave up on the amp wire through the firewall. The grommet on the passenger side seemed too good to be true and it was. There's a big box right inside the cabin that blocks the back of the hole. Near impossible to fish through.

There's a grommet towards teh back of the cab on the bottom of my 2010 screw. I got the liquid tight tubing and I'm running the wire underneath.
Solves the problem of keeping power away from signal wires as well.
