Default new budget system installed!

Hey guys, got my new truck about 3 weeks ago and decided to put a system into it. I have two amps from an old build and wanted to get a budget system going. Less than 500$ for everything, not including the amps. I did all the install myself, including engineering the box and building it at a friends who has a CNC machine. Came out great and sounds legit for one sub. Plus it doesn't take up much room. I mostly play Rock and EDM, with occasional 90's hip hop. Perfect for me!

My baby!

Buy something like this before you start the project. 15$ and saves your knuckles. Holy crap why did Ford make it so hard to get behind the seat.

The meat and the potatoes!

Already had
-JL Audio Slash 500/1
-Aline MRP-F300 (50x4)

Added
-Alpine SPE 6”x9” (fronts) and 6.5” (rears) 130$
-Skar Audio 8” shallow mount sub (model VD-8) 70$
-0 gauge two amp install kit 55$
-Plugnplay kit for DSP harness (this kit was legit awesome, made the install super easy) 160$
-DS18 V5HL 5 channel line converter 50$
-10 sq feet of deadening mat 25$
-Misc parts, screws, RCA’s, etc 50$

Here was the plan at the start

Amp Rack Behind the seat

Subwoofer box under the seat. I have moved it to the middle of the back seat and you can't even tell its in the truck unless you lift up the seats.

For the speakers I tore apart the factory speakers and attached the new speakers to the old harness. Added some deadening material which made for a tight fit. See the video for an example.

Speaker install video that gave me the idea to use the old harness.

If you guys have any questions please let me know.

As a side note I built two of the sub boxes with the intent to run both of them. But I didn't like how much room it took up. I'm sure I could have built a more custom box but I wanted fast and easy.

Later bros!

I have a box left over (un-assembled) if anyone in the Bay area Ca is interested. Comes new with a subwoofer.

Nice job, especially with that box!

Next upgrade for you is an actual DSP

Check out the dayton dsp-408. It has A BUNCH more ability compared to a normal line converter. It has a full DSP with individual speaker EQ and T/A. Well worth the cost just for T/A.

Thanks for the idea, didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but now that it's all up and running I do want more options.

That Skar shallow is really an in between shallow/full sub. It should thump nicely compare to most 8" shallows.
