Default Alpine x008u

Has anyone installed this on their f150? Does the touch climate control screen function and do the backup sensors show proximity on the screen?

There is no plastic to install this size radio. However, if you get it fabricated into your dash (you should use the KIT-F150 to start with) then yes the climate on screen works as do the parking sensors.

You have to get a perfect fit kit from alpine for it. Probably going to order it from crutchfield since they discount all the parts needed for the install. From the alpine site and my current measurements I'm going to try to get a 09-10 radio bezel with the grey dots and cut it out to fit (dont want to mess up my bezel).

Default Alpine x008u

I might just vinyl wrap the bezel, console, and door panels not sure yet.

I have it installed in my 2012 F150, with Idata Maestro RR to integrate w/sync. Also got the perfect fit kit from crutchfield to complete install. The proximity sensors show up on my screen from factory camera, but no climate control screen.

Here is a pic from my install. its a 2011 Raptor, so no back-up sensors. Everything works like it supposed to though. The lines on the OEM camera come up on the screen and all of the climate control works. Mine is the 9" version, but I don't think there is really that much difference. It took some cutting and filling, but I really like the way it turnd out. I had mine hydro-dipped, but if I was to do it again, I'd probably just wrap it.

My plan is to cut out a bezel like the one that is in my truck and install the alpine x008u to look about as factory as you can get. The dimensions listed on the alpine site lead me to believe this would work. The measurements are the least amount I can cut out to square it up I hope...

Why not get the replacement double din face plate for $30 and cut that one up instead of your stock one?

I'm going to try to find a stock one like mine at a yard or ebay instead of cutting up my original one, I would like to keep the same pattern throughout the truck is the reason though. If I can't find one I'll just wrap the alpine perfect fit bezel it comes with and the rest of the trucks interior. I'm weird about the trim not matching everything. lol
