If its same unit as mine there's a spot on the right...says "reset / GPS" that cover lifts off and the mini sd is there

Yes thank you I did wind up finding it !

It only has a 4 gig card so I'm going to an 8 gig for more maps

Now anybody know the pin for turning off the safety mode?

Thanks

Cheers and stay safe

Also Biancos in Sudbury Ontario sells these units

Default Buy it or save for something else

Hey guys. New member and first post. Found the Rosen system on Crutchfield for mid 400s. Worth buying or save for other aftermarket? How's camera? Thanks.

I bought one refurbed off ebay and it had issues. Driver speaker quit working and GPS occasionally wouldn't load. Could be just because it was a refurb, but not sure. I didn't use the camera that came with the unit bc I already had another one installed. I wasn't very impressed with the interface when not in GPS mode. The GPS looked and worked great (when it would load), but the main interface left quite a bit to be desired in my opinion.

Hi everyone. I have been lurking around watching this thread even before I bought the new FX this week and joined the site. Also been researching the Alpine perfect fit for one of our mustangs so I naturally migated toward that for the truck, but when I saw the incompatability with 2011 and 2012 F150 steering wheel control it came off my list.

The Rosen system looks like the kind of system I would be interested in. I want something that retains Sync and adds navigation without the super duper entertainment system.

Cost is a no brainer looking a Crutchfield. It looks like you lose RDS and Sirus title and channel descriptions. Seems like a step back aside from navigation and a different interface.

Even with that, I think the Rosen may be the best solution but there is that set of 3 extra buttons that do not exist on the 2012 radio bezel. The information center control is on the steering wheel now so will there just be a hole where the buttons go or do they supply a block off insert? I will also need to figure out a way to paint the bezel to match the FX.

Still watching for information. Great to be here and thanks for any input you have.

crutchfield told me i came with new buttons and bezel. everthing you need. i am pretty sure it displays the sirius title and that stuff. i tried to get mine but crutchfield doesnt ship to canada. crutchfeild canada doesn't have a 1/4 of what the us has. and doesn't have this. i found a place here that can get it but for 1500 dollars plus tax, i might rething things.

Thanks for the info. I had convienced myself that I would have a mess figuring out how to deal with the extra buttons without a home.

I will give Crutchfield a call to ask about the bezel. As long as they have that covered, I probably will get one. Will wait a little till the account recovers from buying the new truck or sell off the extra stuff left over from the mustang I traded in. If it works, all that is left will be making it look like the rest of the dash. I know of a guy through a friend that does dashboard repair. Might give him a shot at it.

I have had all the fancy electronics before and found I only used a small portion of it but always had the navigation lit up. I like music but don't need to blow the doors off and the factory system sounds just fine to me. Keeping Sync just makes sense and it works great.

Sorry about you not being able to get one out of CF in Canada. Hope you can find something that works and does not break the bank.

Appreciate the input guys! Hate the refurb was a dud. Still thinking on it. Was just going to get OEM Ford Emblem Backup Camera and Rearview Mirror with display but for about $100 more, navigation wouldn't hurt. Just want to make sure its worth it. Also, trying to waste time and not watch this Presidential mess all over tv.
