Crutchfield says it doesn't have an internal amp. What affect will this have with it working in conjunction with the stock sound output?

The Rosen unit actually uses the factory radio... very interesting system. Also you keep the factory Sync display hooked up and it gets mounted ontop of the Sync Module. I am still trying to source where the Sync module is as the installation picture isnt quite clear.

Well everyone... have some bad news, there wont be any install pics. Before I can even install the unit I had a very unwelcome letter in the mail today which is financially forcing me to sell the unit.

However as promised I said I would get pictures of the back of the unit so I have included them here.

The unit is going to be put on the for sale board this evening... ugh

I didn't install it, took it to my local shop to have it done. Doing my first highway trip this weekend so we'll see how good the gps really is
Hello,

Just wondering if there is any chance that you could take a short video of the system in operation? Maybe showing some different screens and a short trip while navigating.

thanks

I just got mine installed this weekend. Rosen had a few factory refurbs on sale on eBay and I grabbed the last one. Everything is very straight forward to install and the instructions are easy to follow if it's something you want to do yourself.

First complaint is that the backup camera that comes with the system A)is hideous and B) doesn't use a standard RCA plug so to use my existing set up my head unit won't automatically switch inputs to display my camera. Not a deal breaker, just a bit of a pain.

Everything fired up just fine when I turned the truck on, nav lit up, touch screen is responsive, but my driver speaker no longer works. Could just be a bad connection, I didn't take it apart again to investigate yet.

I went out of town this weekend and when I tried to turn navigation on it asked to calibrate the screen. Not the calibration tool that is available under settings but a separate screen. Once I followed the steps it says press Enter to accept or Exit to skip. These buttons don't exist and the system OK button doesn't do anything. If you tap the screen again the system "crashes" and shows you an XP like error message with an ok and X button. Never got it working even after hitting the reset button a few times.

Got to work this morning and I figured I would try the nav and it popped up and showed me exactly where I was.

I had a Rosen unit in my last car and the DVD locked up on me and quit working about 6 months in, so I was already a little skeptical going in to it, but I figured it could've been bad luck. I am going to tinker with it hopefully this afternoon and see what the deal is with all the issues. Not a good start though...
