Hopefully this should give some more versatility to the system when this update is launched.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the advent nav. Do you guys that have it still think it's a solid unit? Any issues? How's the navigation been for you? Thanks.

I have had the Advent for a year in my 2011 and do not have any regrets. NAV is very accurate for me. I was caught in traffic and went in to select an alternate route. It took me around the mess. Maps are on a Mini-SD card that you update on your computer. I play my music on a 32GB flash drive and it works greats. Bluetooth phone is good too. Install took me a couple of hours if I remember correctly. It is all PNP. The 2 hours included installed the Bluetooth mic, NAV antenna, SAT receiver and HU in the dash.

Mine also is in a 2011. It's worked great! The NAV system was used last month on a couple of trips totaling over 3000 miles and I was very happy with it.

After installing the cheap backup camera I got from ebay, I found out that the volumn turns down when the truck is placed in reverse. That's kinda cool. Now I can hear that errant shopping cart or baby carriage that I'm aiming for!

I have not looked in the extras or updates yet though so hopefully someone else will chime in on that part.

They are excellent units. Not sure where you are buying it from but check out our reseller adcmobile.com before you purchase. Also, if you're looking for a camera to go with it he resells our tailgate emblem camera and bundles it with the Advent navigation for a discount.

Call Walt at ADCmobile.com for all the details.

Take care,
Chris

I've had my unit for about 2 months now but installed it (on my own) about 2wks ago. I've been pretty satisfied with my purchase so far. I still haven't updated the maps yet. The current maps haven't failed me yet. I've been lazy on taking the OEM backup camera, amps and speakers to an installer. As stated before no real complaints, just wondering why there is so much volume to adjust and why it adjust at the speed that it does. It seems as if its faster to manually adjust the volume from the deck than my steering wheel controls. Does anybody else have that same result?
