Default Advent HU and backup camera

I bought the Advent HU and the backup camera for my 2011 F150 XLT. A year or so ago I installed the HU and all is working like a champ. Last weekend I finally got around to installing the backup camera. I am not getting video when I am in reverse.

I connected the power wire to the yellow wire in the power jack on the trailer hitch. Connected the video wire to the camera and ran the bundle to the cab per instructions. I grounded the black wire and connected the yellow RCA to the yellow backup camera RCA on the HU. I used a mutlimeter and got 12V on the power lead when in reverse. I also enabled the camera in the HU settings.

Did I miss something?

Can't see where you missed anything.

I got the camera working. I should have known better but I took someones word on the trailer hitch wire color to tap and I did not have a good camera connection. In a message someone said the yellow wire goes to the center pin in the 7-wire connector. My center pin is gray. I corrected that and made certain my video connection was good. Works like a champ now.

Default A DUH moment

Guess I'm not too bright. For some reason I thought the HU had to be powered on for the BU camera to work. I would start the truck, turn on the HU, then back up. I was in a parking lot with lots of room so I decided I didn't need the camera. I put it in reverse and lo and behold...the camera came on the screen. Then it dawned on me. Around each **** there is a faint blue light meaning it had power. Standby mode I guess. I just had to shake my head. I amaze myself sometimes.
