2018 F150 XLT Sport Build
#71
Used a left over piece of plexiglass from sealing my doors to mount the 2 amps and distro block.
Have to clean up the carpet and the wiring a bit but am waiting for the weather to warm up a bit first.
Tonight I am installing a Raptor steering wheel and harness (provided by a forum member here) to make the paddles 100% functional, as well as a HDC button swap and then enabling it through FORscan.

Where did you put your ground?

Great Build and excellent detailed information. I have what I thought was a simple question but JL Audio and Crutchfiled are struggling to provide a solid answer. I have a 2018 XLT FX4 Super Crew without the B&O upgraded radio or Sony upgrade.. I do not have a factory amp. . I'm planning my Sound System Upgrade and committed to using JL Audio's new VXi 1000 5ch Amp .....the Amp has DSP capabilities. My question is....DO I need the JL FIX 86 or FIX 82???? Does my current HU need signal summing and EQ correction since it is not the B&O or Sony?? HELP????

As far as I know you shouldn't need the FIX since the VXi amps have a built in DSP (but WOW they are pricey). That is one nice thing about the regular stereo...they are super easy to add onto.

Looks like I will be taking the plunge into a 3 way active front stage. Long story short, I helped out the local stereo shop by donating my Audison 8.9 and in return they are giving me a pair of Focal 3" mids. A couple days without tunes...no problem lol. Now it's time to grab a pair of pillars, watch as many Youtube videos that I can, and try my hand at some custom made speaker pods. As far as powering everything, I am going to let my Audison 8.9 (brand new one here Monday) handle the front stage and then grab a mini 2 or 4 channel amp to handle the rear fill. Looking at something like the new Audiocontrols ACM-2.300...something small yet capable.

Picking up my brand new Audison 8.9 today after work as well as my free Focal Access 3" mid drivers.
This is what I am shooting for as far as an end product goes...

Who's are those? That is what I am planning on doing. Slicing the bottom portion of the pillar so that they can be wrapped cleanly. The grab handle line is where I plan on slicing mine. Any picture of the backside showing how they braced/glued the two pieces back together? I even bought an extra set of pillars from Tasca so I can hack them up.

It's just a pic I found on the interweb...one of the nicest installs I've seen yet. I might have a hookup at the Ford dealership in hopes of getting a pair of new pillars for stupid cheap.
