I just started ordering stuff for my 18' as well. It should be here in the next couple of weeks, so I have some time. Has anyone confirmed that the parrot harness for 15-17' trucks works with the 18' as well? I'm going to do the FORscan change on the ACM to make the stereo output low level and flat / full range, but I'd like to get that parrot installer harness to avoid cutting into the factory harnesses.

So far I have Morel Tempo Ultra 6.5 components for the front and Morel Maximo 6.5 coax's for rear fill. I also got the FAST rings for front and back as well as custom ABS speaker mounts (I'll post up a new thread with pics of everything once the truck is delivered).

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the NVX sound deadening from SonicElectronix also. I'm thinking about buying the 40 square foot pack for $100; it seems like a pretty dam good deal and should get me pretty close to doing all of what I intend to do. Which brings up another question... I plan on deadening the doors thoroughly, but not much of the floor; maybe back under the rear seat where the sub will be and on the back wall of the cab. I'm hoping that I don't have to remove the center console and carpet to complete my install this time (in my 13' I had to pull the entire interior to get to the dam Sony amp). Have you guys with 15+ Crews found that it's really noticeable with the floors done vs. not done?

I'm probably going to do the install in phases, since once I do the FORscan edit, there won't be any tunes until the amps are installed. I'll probably do the doors first, sound deadening and speaker installs. Then figure out which amps I'm going to run and do the sub with the amps in phase two.

I’m doing the same with 18 in phases as well. This stuff is expensive. I’m doing Focal 6x9 ISS 690 up front and 6.5’s in the rear. I already have a sub, box and amp. Need to buy a Alpine Mrv-F300 4 Chanel amp for doors and I’m going with the JL Audio Fix86 DSP for the signal processor. As far as the parrot harness I’m gonna stop by my dealer and find out if the radio harness from 17 is the same as 18 because I’m using that too. I thought I read somewhere on here that it does work but I have to search for that thread. Hopefully we can compare our builds and get it done nice. 👍🏻

Are you doing the DSP to flatten the factory signal or are you one that will really be taking advantage of it? Reason I ask, is the FORscan fix will flatten the factory EQ and convert your factory speaker outs on the back of the HU to low level. So you can basically splice RCA's onto the speaker outs and route it right to the amp's low level input. That will save you a fortune and from research I've done, there is virtually zero clipping from the factory source, even at full volume, when you make the FORScan changes. You might be able to save yourself a few bucks and skip the DSP if you don't think you'll actually have the system professionally tuned (or can do it yourself) AND also feed the system quality data to play.

i thought about but I really wanted to avoid the Forscan option. I realize it’s alot cheaper....I guess I’ll do some more research on the Forscan. Does flattening the signal with that also take care of bass rolloff?

Yep, it will provide a full range signal and removes all of the factory DSP.

I have a 2018 non Sony with the Parrot Harness and used Forscan to make my ACM output low level, works great with my Alpine KTP 445u.

well that’s great to know. I might have to change my thoughts and go that route. As far as tapping into the parrot harness do you still use a line out converter or do you just use rca jacks wired to the speaker wires?

wow that’s great. I gotta look into the Forscan more. From what I’ve seen so far it looks relatively easy. Just need the Bluetooth adapter and a pc right?

If you do the forescan conversion to make your speaker outs low level, you just splice RCA's directly into the parrot harness and run RCA's back to the amp; done. If you don't use the forescan mod, you will have to run the parrot wires out of the head unit into a line out converter and some sort of signal summer and bass restore process, then into the amp.

As for using Forescan, you need a OBDII adapter and a windows PC. Download the software and you're all set.
