As for using Forescan, you need a OBDII adapter and a windows PC. Download the software and you're all set.
are the parrot wires out of the HU the same as tapping into the rear door speakers in the pillars? thx.

No because the parrot harness gives you access the the front left and right channels which are full frequency. The rear channels (in the pillars) are bass limited with a highpass crossover that you cannot defeat. Music is record in stereo left and right, not front and rear. Always grab signal from the front channels.

Well I seem not able to leave well enough alone. Sold my Hertz IDK for for more than I originally paid for it and picked up an AudioControl LC-1.800 for powering my sub. Great little amp that sounds great paired with the Focal 12".

Noticed one thing, though. While setting the gains the LC-1.800 was showing clipping with the dial at 22 rather than 26 that I set the Audison AP F8.9 at.

That is a pretty low clipping volume. What source is feeding your 1.1800? Is all EQ flat on your headunit?

That's what I thought, too. Originally setup my Audison AP F8.9 bit at a volume of 26 (out of 30) as that seems to be a common volume before clipping starts. EQ is flat on my headunit and other than the usual time delays and crossovers, I haven't messed around with the settings in the Audison DSP. I'm thinking it's to do with the music quality...stream Spotify 99% of the time. I also set the gain on the LC-1.800 with a 40 hz test tone. I also notice on the odd song that the clipping light comes on at volumes as low as 15.

You need to set your gains with no time alignment or crossovers. Disconnect your speakers and sub first. Set everything to default. No processing of any kind. Use a 1000 hz 0db test tone for the midbass, sub use a 50hz 0db. If running active, no need to set the tweeters with a test tone. Tweeters are incredibly efficient and can be set by matching the midbass and then backing off. Fine tuning of the gain will occur digitally via the dsp once you measure the frequency response and volume output in comparison to rest of your speakers. 5 watts on a tweeter could put out over 100db. That efficient.

The AudioControl amp has a volume maximization light and a gain clipping light. Turn your gains down to zero. Start turning up the headunit until the input maximization light illuminates. Leave the volume at that level and start turning your gain up slowly, you want the gain light to barely flicker. It doesn't matter if you only turn the gain up slightly. Gain is not a volume control, it is for matching the input and output volume of the amplifier. Make sure your Addison processor has no input or output gain boost or cut activated.

Thanks for the info. Is there a reason why the AudioControl amp is showing clipping at lower volumes when the Audison amp was setup at a volume of 26 (without clipping). I will try adjusting gains manually as you outlined above and see if I get different settings.
