I've gone to HD audio. It's your typical audio shop. I'm not sure it's worth an hour drive. There's another place little further south in Akron, Century 21. I've used them for tint a few times...haven't bought or had anything installed by audio store in years. Just get the kicker sub and call it a day IMO

Second post but it seems you're unaware of the OEM kicker setup?

it goes in stock sub location. Has amp included. Had previous gen and it was more than enough. This gen is even easier. The wires are back there and it's one plug. Around $400 from vendors on here.

if you want door speakers I'd just get some ones that fit factory holes and call it a day. I know saying 2k for a mod on a forum isn't worth it, is throwing stones in a glass house...but trust me don't go dropping 2k+ on that setup.

it ain't worth it.

Not going to spend 2k but that kicker setup is way over priced for what it is. I'd like a little more than that for my money

Fair enough, my old one shook the mirror. And never had any issues with the kicker speakers it came with either. Always were clear audio. I wasn't looking for anything crazy though.

like I said if your looking for shops and are willing to come to Kent area I'd check out Century 2000 in Akron too. They're on tallmadge ave

That OZ amp is way more than you need for those 2 RF subs. The amp below will feed each one of those RF subs a little over 200 watts rms each which should be plenty. I'm using this amp to power 2 JL Audio 8W3's, and it pushes them very nice! It's a 5 channel, so the other 4 channels will power your front and rear speakers with approx. 90 watts rms to each channel. I wasn't very familiar with NVX, but I took a chance based on all the excellent reviews. One of the best purchases I've ever made! I've been around high end audio for years, and this amp shocked me with it's quality. It's really small as well so it's easy to mount. Do yourself a favor, and take a shot with this amp. You wont be disappointed! Oh, there speakers are worth checking out too.... You can check one of my posts from earlier today regarding their 6.5" mids that I installed this morning. Good luck!

So I took your advice and went with a 5 channel amp but I went with an Alpine PDX-5 just because i got it for 45 bucks cheaper than the NVX used like new condition. I also decided for now its a better option to mount my subs under the seat instead of behind just because its going to be difficult. Nineball has been helping me behind the scenes. I got a good deal on 2x Infinity Reference subs 8' so those will be the subs under the seat! Still need to decide on speakers and figure out what else I need to keep this install super clean with factory head.

Nice! I think that's a pretty good choice for the amp at that price, although your subs are only going to get about 150 watts rms each. With the right enclosure, they should still sound very good. The enclosure I have is vented on both sides, and sounds great. Did you confirm those subs will fit under the seat? I don't believe they are shallow mount, and there's not much room under the rear seat.... I would definitely check that before you get them. Considering how far under budget you are now, I would get those NVX components I linked earlier! 👍

I have not personally heard their speakers. Having said that, the speakers you linked appear to be $570.00 and that's without crossovers or tweeters! You should really try out the NVX components I linked in an earlier post. I have a pretty good feeling you will thank me later. I've been using the mid bass' from that component set for the last few days, and they are amazing! I plan to buy the matching crossovers and tweeters soon.
