I am still debating between the Pac, RF, and Forscan for me because I don't want to cut wires either and haven't found a good, and CHEAP, harness.
This is the only harness that I have been able to find and I don't know if it works with the sony and/or if they will sell just the harness.

Idatalink F02 harness. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-4U8bIm...n-Adapter.html

Cheap, easy, no hacking of the factory harness.

That harness looks like it has everything. Unfortunately it looks like it doesn't work with 2015 and up ;(.
Only aversions to DSR1 are $$$ and the buggy software. Since I am bringing parts from my previous build I don't really want to buy another piece if not necessary. This looks pretty simple actually since I already have the forscan setup, may need to just bite the bullet and refabricate the factory harness. :/ .

The F02 is the harness for 2015 and up. I have it installed in my truck with the DSR1. It is completely plug and play. I did not solder or heatshrink a single wire on the factory harness. The DSR1 did have its problems but it has been improved significantly. I would say it is problem free with the update released 03/12/18. As far as money, in my opinion, the DSR1 is the most affordable factory integration/dsp unit you can buy.

There is a third option from Metra; I have it on the way. I've linked an article to the harness and another article that covers a few "before the amplifier" solutions.

If anybody has tried this, please post your thoughts. Otherwise, I'll report back. At the moment, it will be used as a fancy two channel LOC powering a JLHD750/1 w/ two 12TW3-D4s. Eventually I'll add another JL 4 channel amp, replace the door speakers, and utilize the built-in DSP functionality.

Bump...installed the Metra Access piece on a 17 Sony...it works.

Currently using it as a fancy LOC since I'm only using the sub outputs of the 6 RCAs, but the ability to bluetooth to the unit is nice and the output is much cleaner vs the PAC LOC (still installed for signal sense remote turn-on to avoid running a new wire). All chimes, sensors, bluetooth etc. tested and confirmed to function normally, with the added bonus of being able to adjust their volume.

Install wasn't bad- the Ford harness is a must-have. I'll keep it as-is for now, but I"m postured for a 4 channel amp/door upgrade should I decide later on.

I left the DSP flat for the front/rears since the harness is looped for sub only configuration and the Sony is still in play, but I'm able to adjust gain/X-over settings for the subs from my iPhone.

The FO2 harness works perfectly with the 15's-up. Also I felt the same as you about the DSR1 but after their last update this thing is awesome. I wouldn't have done this any other way.

Did they include any documentation that the Sony amp can be removed? The info on there site is very limited. I realize you are still using your Sony amp and need it in for now.

Thanks,
