partial answer for my questions, thanks....so does my base system have that center speaker too? And then obviously ran off the factory deck on it's own as you say? thank you

To be honest, if you have no plans to add factory nav I would absolutely upgrade the factory stereo with a really nice Alpine 8" touch screen unit.... in your case there is no reason to keep the stock stereo. UsING a steering wheel module, you should be able to retain the stereo controls on the steerING wheel

Is summing required if I run the frt and rear each to there own line level converters? Does the rear roll off bass?

Secondly, does the base system have a center speaker? If so, is it wired off the fronts? I plan to parrot connector the stereo to get the speaker outputs to go to a line level unit, then out of an amp to new door speakers....this output from the new added on amp, does it power the center speaker too?

I don't know what base is. I mean I think the XL has a base unit that does not have a center channel speaker. I also have an XLT with nav and sync 3 and I have a center channel speaker. Fwiw, I have the 302a pkg. Again, it is my findings that the center channel speaker, if left alone, using the parrot harness...will continue to work as before.

Mine's got the back up camera (4" screen), syrius, no nav, no touch....but has SYNC (I may have said no sync earlier) but it's the base sync, not the sync3.

So I plan to get the For11CK and a LC6i or a LC7i if there's bass roll off....the lc6i doesn't have the feature to correct the base roll off....so that's why I'm asking....plus, maybe the system I have does NOT need summing, so I really don't need the Lc6 unit either....I could just use another brand, better price.

I wouldn't go cheap on the DSP. Not a fan of Audio control any longer but they are light years better than basic Line level converters. The Audison Bit Ten or Alpine PXA-H800 are what I have narrowed my selections down to. Since you do have sync2, I retract my recommendation of ditching it.

Why dont you like AC? Their LC8i is the shiat, its awesome. I ran it on my previous vehicle and it worked like a charm.

I am not using it on the ford cus I dont need it, but I would if I had space in the back. I hate that the Alpine aint 8-ch in, otherwise I'd jump on it asap. Audison is too expensive

The base system in my XLT does have a center speaker but I don't know where or how it receives it's signal from. I am upgrading mine and leaving it connected just as the previous post mentions.

Center channel comes from the head unit or as Ford calls it the Audio Control Unit (ACM) connector C240A. Here is the pin out.
