I grounded the VSS amp to the same place as the 2016 VSS system grounds to. When you open the driver door, pull off the panel on the side of the dash. Pops off with plastic clips. There is a bolt that I used per the instructions on the "2016" instructions. I do believe I had to extend the ground wire just a little to reach but otherwise no issues. I checked the ground continuity prior to attaching to ensure it was a good. If I recall correctly, there were two bolts that were exposed and I think it was the bottom one. Download the instructions for the 2016 and you will not have an issue.
