Its not looking good, doesn't sound like I will get the truck back this week.

Just installed my PAC unit last night. I'm very happy with it.. no problems even tho I dont remember the airbag lights being on before. Sounds way better.. looks way better! Took me a few hours but I'm stuck home with a broken foot so it ate up a day. Thanks for all the tips here. I followed the YouTube video from FiveStar and just walked thru step by step. Everything works!

That looks nice! Any problems with the steering wheel switch integration? What model Pioneer is that?

Everything works. The mute button is a little weak tho.. if its really cranking you can still hear it some when you hit that button.. but I can call out.. and change stations and volume.. it all works. Its the AVH-X491BHS same as the 5800 model but the 2017.

Kenwood does the same thing...mute does not shut off music, but lowers it enough to have a phone call.
I thought it was a kenwood thing, must be the Pac..
Not a big deal, just get used to it

It's a Pioneer thing also.

I like the Pioneer. I have one in my Vette, 350Z and one in the Dodge Ram I just sold to buy this truck. I tried the Kenwood a couple of times but never got into it. To me they all sound the same but I like the layout of the Pioneer. Everything is easy to get to and the sound is how I like it. I've never had one die on me either. (knock on wood)

Just wanted to give an update since a lot of guys were interested in the Metra. My truck is still in the shop after 11 days. The Metra dash kit temperature controls are not working. First, they were having problems with getting the fan speed to adjust. Metra send them update software and resolved that issue but now they are saying the temp modes won't change. Metra told them they need to try to hardwire something now. Supposedly they were going to try that this morning. I'd probably stay away from the Metra right now. I am replacing the 8 inch Sync 3 unit on my 2016 XLT. Seems like the Scosche unit has the least problems right now so I would recommend others go with that. The Pac unit looks nice but is not compatible with my truck since I am not replacing the 4.3 inch screen.
