looks great. I'm in the process of building a box for my truck, so I know what a pain it is to make everything fit.... I'm just doing a 8". Great work!

this is with the bottom of the seat lifted, it touches the surround on the sub. gonna have to unplug the sub if seat bottoms need to be lifted for a trip

.5 lb of polyfill, used super77 to stick it in there good

First time carpeting, front looks good but back has alotta seams

Have the output from Sony Amp going into my sound processor, rca's from output of sound processor to input of Alpine amp, then output of Alpine amp going back to factory speaker wires.

Just wanted to say that if someone is looking into putting a processor with the Sony system...make sure when you grab your input to processor that you don't twist tweeter and woofer wire from the front! Called audiocontrol and informed me they dont recommend it because this processor already sums. It had a bad crackle/distortion at like 1/4 head unit volume coming from the front left output of processor.

Also make sure your equalizer on your head unit and ipod/android (if your using bluetooth/aux cord) is FLAT! It will sound weird.

Also I used Knukonceptz Krystal rca cables from processor to amp and I wouldn't recommend them for this application (lots of static and not sound quality not the best) Mostly because they are twisted RCA and not coax construction (twisted rca made for balanced rca input and coax for unbalanced inputs) that amp and processor have unbalanced input/output...fyi...

Great work, I plan to follow suit in time. I'll do what others can't seem to do: use my own tape measure!!

Spot on Souther(n)man (no matter what Neil Young says)
If anyone is wondering about the scientific backing details on the amount of polyfill here is a March/April 1995 edition of "Car Stereo Review" article on it. Make a small box act like a larger one with polyester fiberfill By TOM NOUSAINE or further investigations are in a book on amazon called Loudspeaker Design Cookbook. Some people do the trial and error method of adding polyfill, listening ... adding more or taking some out. YMMV

Yes, you can splice the wires directly without buying the plug-in harness by matching the wire colors.
Looking to do this in my 2.7. How did you get the signal from the OEM plug? And which fuse did you tap into? I'm finding a lot of posts by people who have had issues with the auto-start stop and subs.
