Thanks for straightening me out on this subject! I don't know how I could have missed the threads about it.

Local Car Audio installer took door panels off.

Stated front speakers were now 6X9

Back Speakers are now 6.5"

Factory Sub and amp are in the back of the driver side back seat. (Should have taken picture)

If you look under middle back seat you'll see the honeycomb-ish cover for the 8" sub.

Im installing Infinity Kappa 6x9's. For the rear probably Morel 6.5" Component. Let me know if pics are wanted.

Also installed Fox Box under back seat with FORD logo. Two 10's-Alpine Type-R's which Fox Box was specific about using. 1200 watt kicker amp running them. Alpine PDR-450(I think) to run the door speakers. Left factory head unit.

Anyways, OP just wants to add aftermarket speakers so it doesn't matter either way.
So the XLT doesn't have piped in engine noise? I can add amped speakers to the XLT but not Lariat?

Did they make custom speaker brackets? Wondering if I can buy some online that will work without having to make custom ones.

I ordered 2 pairs of Kappas (6x9 & 6-1/2) for my 15. Had them in my last truck, I personally haven't heard any better car speakers to date.

Oh Boy....heard of this before once, now second time...ooooh boy! Not knocking your 15 my friend, but this is hilarious with the fake engine noise.

Found this video, seems new and might help with installs. Quick demo on removing the door panels:

Will 6x8s fit? I just took my '15 to the local stereo shop and he pointed out the Pioneer Excelon 6x8s. The reviews on those speakers are very good but I wonder if they'll fit?

Hey!
In the 2015 F150 section someone posted a lil `how to`disable the fake engine noise and run all the aftermarket amps you want. Also the speakers and sub box have been discussed to death in there as well.
