4 Ga knuknoceptz power ran and mounted MDF sheet with Loctite PL Premium for Amp mounting. I am not going to cut the interior backing, but just drill through it.

Looks great so far! Picked up a new 14 STX today. The driver's side speakers came pre-blown. Awesome.

Love the truck, but the stock audio system is literally the worst sounding one I've ever owned in any car...

Going to be looking to replace the speakers and add Nav / reverse camera... But want to keep it simple (no amps) if possible...

Nope, not possible. Or sure, you can do it for a little while but you'll turn to the dark side eventually.....

Read what you said. "Drivers side speakers pre-blown? Awesome?". Does that mean the warranty on a 2014 won't cover the problem?
Awesome, your happy with this??

What are you trying say

The "awesome" was sarcastic... annoyed that I drove off the lot with a blown driver's speaker... I assume that warranty will cover it, havent called dealer yet.

What size speakers does the truck have? I may just run out today and replace them--cant listen to music right now--really annoying. Assume it'll take a few days for the dealer to order a replacement...

Your speakers are 5x7 or 6x8. No point in having the dealership replace the blown one.

Install is 95% complete. I ordered my Alpine SWS-10D2 single 10" Sub and I am going to order my Single 10" Ported Fox Box for under the rear seat in the coming days.

Here's some pics of the Alpine Bass ****, SPR-60C Speakers and PDX-V9 Amp mounted to the rear wall and wired up. The **** I mounted in the little compartment under the 4x4 selector switch.

I used "FatMat" sound deadening around the speakers...for the fronts I used a layer of FatMat, mounted the speaker adapter plate, applied another layer of FatMat then screwed the speaker in. Everything sounds fantastic and it is LOUD.

couple of questions about the tweeters:

1. why didnt you mount the tweets on the outside of the pillar hole instead of behind the hole?
2. where did you mount your crossovers for the speakers?

1. I wanted to remain as factory as possible with this sound system upgrade. To mount outside the hole would have required cutting the hole to a bigger diameter. All of the changes I did on this project are completely reversible.
2. The crossovers are mounted inside the dash "pockets" on their respective sides. If you open your driver or passenger door you will see the side of the dash actually unclips (has a hole in it for the defroster). I unclipped this and Velcro-d it inside. Works great and will be kept dry.
