Only minor disappointment are my highs up front. I have hertz 165.3 mille pros in front, and just some hertz 5x7's coaxials in rear. The coaxials, to my surprise, are much brighter than my components. I don't know what the deal is...all four channels are being run off the same amp and with same settings. But so far, I had to turn down gain of rears in order to have more of the sound come from up front.

Tomorrow I am going to cut out the boom mats from the rear door speakers, I think it stifles mid bass. Luckily, I kept all my door panels off just in case. it's possible the door speakers sound better when I put my door panels back on...I know that should make it more air tight and at least improve mid bass response.
My bet is those coax in back are more efficient than your Milles. Check the sensitivity ratings for both sets. I have that issue in my rig; but I fade all the way to the front unless I have passengers in back anyway.

This could be true. I mean you gotta think to where that speaker is it's very close to you dome. Fading to front is easy problem to fix. Like said I had this problem in my equinox when I had it. Rear speaker was super close to me .

My truck came with the rubber floor mats, so it's Ford issue.

Make sure you amp crossovers are doing some kinda multiplying on mids signal.
I've got my mids crossed over around 65 hz at the amp. Mid bass sounds alright, it's the highs that are lacking, the tweeters up front are not near as loud as the tweeters in the back (for same gain settings). I ended up turning gain down on rears, and upping the treble on the EQ, and now it sounds good.

I'm just using the factory 3 band EQ through the PAC. I'm tempted to get some sort of DSP. I don't need a LOC, I just need maybe an EQ that takes RCA in, RCA out.

No loc needed with PAC unit. But dsp let's you ditch those crappy crossovers and open up those mids and tweets . And with time alignment you can get it all dead on for your seat.

I am gonna. Be using PAC and dsp for tuning. PAC does all the dirty wiring for me .

Thanks! The first pic shows the seats pretty well, were you wanting a different angle?

These 8w7's, when powered right, slam pretty hard. Of course, I"m driving them with an HD 1200/1 , which according to many sources is overkill. However, I chatted with someone at JL Audio, and they helped me set the amp correctly and said this setup should be just fine. I had to set the input sensitivity to 38.7 V @ 75% volume (instead of 43) which effectively lowers the 600 watts to 500 watts (maximum rated RMS) per sub.

Also, this box ain't going nowhere. At 80 lbs, and sandwiched between seats and rubber floor mat, there was no reason to bolt anything down. The 18' RCA cables were a bit long I must say, get 15' at most.

I have to say, the 2.5" seat lift is a bit much, but not extreme. I'm nearly 6' tall, and the top of my head begins to hit the roof. If I slouch back ever so slightly, then all good. Given that kids are usually the only humans in my back seat, it's all good for me. I think the same result could be had with a 2" lift kit, rather than 2.5". Of course, they'd have to make them first, which I've not seen yet.
