2007 STX Manual transmission Can bus issues
I THINK I have a canbus system. I have 3 wire harnesses but only 1 was used in the aftermarket JVC that was in it when I bought it. I bought an EONON GA5173 Android 4.2.2. It has the Canbus but the Radio does not realize 1 when the lights are on to dim the display nor 2 when the truck is in reverse. Any ideas? Do I have a canbus system? I want to say 2007 was still transition I think. What can I do to get my radio to realize when the truck is in reverse?

I found that in the case of a manual transmission the CAN bus does not know or care what gear it is in. The purple wire from the decoder was the wire I needed. I cut it from the decoder and used it like a trigger wire to the head unit. It now works. Thanks. Had it been an autotragic trashmission the CAN bus would have worked. But since it is a Manley transmission I had to do it the manly manual way. As for dimming the touch screen. I could care less that it doesn't work.

Thanks but I was not trying to get power to the camera jus let the head unit know the truck is in reverse. The head unit DOES use the CAN bus to detect that then debs a 12v + from the decoder to the head unit.

Ok so I got this figured out finally. IF you have an automatic transmission, then the Can bus detects the signal digitally and sends a 12v+ to the HU. What I did NOT know is if the can bus decoder sent a 12v+, a 12v- or a digital signal to the HU. With the Automatic transmissions the signal is detected digitally via the Can Bus. With the MANUAL transmission no signal is sent via the Can BUS SOooo, if you get this particular head unit and you have the manual transmission it is poorly labeled. Cut purple wire from Can Bus decoder (not your can bus system PLEASE) and use that as a 12v+ trigger to the head unit. I had luckily already ran a 12v+ trigger from the reverse light when I pulled my wire harness. So EONON great product just poor documentation and labeling. WOULD have been plug and play if it was an autotragic but I prefer the manley transmissions so there. Thanks for the help everyone. I DID figure it out and if anyone in the future gets an EONON and runs into this the decoder is SUPPOSED to get a reverse signal and send positive 12v to the purple wire coming from decoder to HU. As for the lights dimming decoder is SUPPOSED to send 12v+ on orange wire from decoder to HU. Doesn't really work and the amount it dims is nominal. I could CARE LESS if it dims or not.

I recently purchased an Eonon GA5173f. I think it maybe the same unit you have, except it is running Android 4.4.4. My unit also came with no instructions. At first I could not get the HU to power up. The red wire coming out of the HU plug was connected by a stab connector to the canbus adapter. There was also the same type of stab connector on a red wire coming from the other end of the wire harness, so I moved the wire from the HU end over to the harness plug and it powered up. I didn't have the reverse camera issue, but I have an automatic.
I am experiencing the issue of the led lights not illuminating and screen not dimming. Did you just run a wire from a dash light to the orange wire? I'm wondering if disconnecting the canbus adapter wire somehow disabled that function. All other functions appear to work fine, steering wheel controls, delayed power down, and reverse detection.
I am also having issues with the amount of bass. I have all the bass turned down in the equalizer, but the subwoofer is still overpowering the other speakers. Did you have that issue?
Overall, I really like this HU, but need to fix the bass issue if I am going to keep it. Any help would be appreciated.
