Can someone help me pick the tweeters I should go with. I want factory location and would like to use factory harnesses. What I don't understand is I though the factory wiring had a crossover built in, so wouldn't I just need to hook speaker up and be done?

I have the Kappas 6829cf and was thinking about doing the same. I also have the clarion xc1410 amp installed too which really woke these up. Any suggestions?

Depending on the teeters you get, the factory high pass filters may or may not do the trick. I tried using them with JL tweets and one of the tweeters blew. I had to put in the JL crossovers, and now things work fine.

Your only crossover on the factory tweeter is a capacitor on the base system

Has anyone installed the
JBL 3/4” GTO 9 Series JBL 3/4” GTO 9 Series
?

If yes: how do you like the sound? Do you have pictures of what they look like installed?

So far, my JBL 3/4" tweeters sound great off factory power and the stock inline crossover. They will be amped soon with the rest of the 3 way component set, but off the JBL crossover.

The Cap they used for a crossover is attached to the back of the factory tweeter. Did you remove it? If not then you don't have a crossover

Installed tweeters today. JL Audio C1 3/4”. I couldn’t find the factory crossover and as I’ve read it may be in the radio or somewhere not able to be seen. I added the JL crossover and it seems the speakers are quieter than expected. I also have an aftermarket amplifier on them. Has anybody just hooked tweeters up without their crossover and the “factory one” has been enough ? I’m scared to try and blow my tweeters.

The factory "crossover" is a capacitor attached to the back of the oem tweeter. Did you amplify the factory speakers before installed the JL's? How did you set your gain on your amp? When you say you expect them to be louder, what's your reference point?
