The Navy Blue lines represent the factory speaker wire, and the red "x" are where each cut will be made. I'll take the Sony amp side of the wire, and run the Lime Green speaker wire into the LC6i (should be LC8i since I have front tweeters, right?) and will run the Purple RCAs out into the JL amp. From the JL amp, I'll run the Dark Green speaker wire back to the speaker side of each cut.
I, too, am a newbie looking to upgrade my 2012. Can I ask a newbie question or 2?
When you refer to "cuts" are you planning to "sever" and re-attach speaker wires or "splice in" to the wires at the "X" points?
Are you running your sub feed from the Sony amp to the LCi module as well?
Thanks a million!

The cuts will be just that, I'll cut the wire coming out of the amp. The amp side wires will be ran to the LC6i, then converted into RCAs. The RCAs will run into my JL amp, and the speaker wire will be ran back from the JL amp output to the speaker side of the cut wires coming out of the Sony amp.
I'm unsure about the sub. I'm unsure if I need yo tap into it at the amp as well, or if it's under the Sony sub box....
Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Belushi. Thanks for the pics my man! Helps to have a visual.
Are you putting the insulated carpet back on?
My goal is to keep that carpet in place.

Ur welcome buddy. Got the sub in today, did sone tweaking. WOW. Sounds amazing. Yes I'm putting carpet back in. Will trim it around my amp rack. I'm not sure u will b able to lave it in and put amp rack on top. Might push rack out too far. I could b wrong. Definitely like to see it.

Yo Belushi, I'm stumped...
You say just tap into the existing speaker wire, yet you ran new speaker wire?!?!?
Mind = Blown
So, are you saying it wasn't worth the trouble to run new wire, or are you simply suggesting it'd be sufficient to just use what's there rather than running new wire?
Seeing how you ran them through the molex connector, I say it looks easy enough. Worth running new wire all together at this rate. Hell, I'm already running it from the Sony amp to the LC6 and from the JL amp back to the Sony amp...
16 gauge I suppose...
Just to continue to add to the overall badassery of this thread, mind posting a few pics of your truck as it sits? I've scored the interwebs, and I've got NOTHING!
You've also got me considering trimming my amp rack way down, and cutting the insulated carpet around it as opposed to laying it over it.
I'm going to attempt a cut or two more and try to keep the whole thing on top of the insulated carpet, but may say chingalo and do it your way!
Congrats on getting the sub all buttoned up. Did you tap the existing DVC wires from the green clip, or also tap into the Sony amp wires?

Molex can be a b*tch in our trucks.
Many have to pull their passenger side fuse panel and their e-brake assembly to get at the "body side" molex connectors.
Belushi may have found a better way, but I think he was saying it just isn't worth the headache.
Over to you Belushi............

Yes I tapped in from the clip. Much less wire to use there. Here's my baby.
