future question, is it possible to hook up a 4 channel amp and still have SYNC? I'm not a big audio guru, I just know how to do the basic's. but now that I have a 1 channel amp hooked up, I could just use the RCA outputs on that and connect them to a 4 channel and it should work...right?
Yes you can use sync thru an amp but it needs to be wired correctly. Most people don't use sync and just use the features on their aftermarket HU instead. You have a 1 channel amp for your sub? How are you getting the sub signal for the amp. You need to use the RCA outs from your HU for your 4 channel amp.

How would those jbl 6x8s sound all around? I recently installed 4 infinity reference 6832s but had 1 that's been distorted / crackling since install and crutchfield has discontinued them, so I'll have to replace at least 1 pair with something else, but I like to keep brand uniformity

I have not personally listened to the JBL 6X8's so I can not comment on how they sound. ive had great luck with their products and dont hesitate to use them.

As far as the deal sonic has..I dont like the amp and the install kit. I would replace the amp, Sound Deadner and the amp kit with these:

http://audiotechnix.com/products/sou...sound-deadener

audio technix also sells wire kits. they are pretty good in quality, I used one in a friends car..if you want to simplify your shopping.

If you have more questions, shoot me a PM. I dont get over here as much as I would like.

I have replaced the front door speakers with the Pioneer TSD6802 and the rear doors with the MTX TDX68. The front needed the highs from the Pioneer. The difference is incredible. If you pack the sony sub with the poly fill you can almost live without changing the sub, but I had to change my sub out. The sub is a Kicker CVT10 powered by a MTX 500.1D. It is plenty to fill the cab and get the windows to vibrate. This was the least evasive upgrade.

Some of the speakers listed arnt bad but you could do much better. Their db at 1 watt is low but ok for a budget. I would not go with the amp listed because the signal to noise ratio isnt very good and neither is the THD at rated RMS. These all result in muddy sound when cranked to their "rated" level. I am speaking from recent experience of learning the hard way.

You can run a PAC and still use the factory HU and sync will work just as it does today as well as it will give you low level inputs to the amp and a remote turn on signal wire for the amp.

@ Richard75013 - What amp would you suggest or recommend to push the single Kicker CVT10. I am running the factory NAV head unit and the PAC is attached where the factory Sony sub WAS located. I have noticed the muddled sound at full volume but I thought that was from the signal and the PAC. This is the first stereo system that I have had to use the factory head unit. I would love to get it to a better level.

I'm not big on recommending products but I would lean toward quality as opposed to just price. I was trying to do a budget deal as well and thought, I wont get the cheapest nor the most expensive so I settled in between but then cranking it all up I was very disappointed. If it were me the 1st time around knowing what I do now I would have started with the Polk amp which is what I have now. Its not a budget buster but its pretty darn good quality and I am totally happy with it so far. Yea, its more than an 89$ amp but you will only buy it once.

Some other things to mention, make sure you have ample power gettig to the amp as well. Right size cable and appropriate size alternator.

Also, make sure the amp is tuned for the speaker bc you cant just slap 1 in and call it good.

Opinions and recommendations is the primary reason I joined this Community along with my passion for Ford F-150's and for those that share my passion. It was a recommendation from the stereo shop that lead me to the MTX and now I will travel down the road to another shop that sells and will install Polk. I found two mono amps from Polk Audio, PA D1000.1 and the PA 880. I too believe in quality and believe that you get what you paid for. I had a 2001 Screw with a Pioneer 3300BT, Boston Acoustics in the doors, JBL 10" and all behind a Memphis Belle amp. Now I am trying to build behind this Ford Touch head unit with the least amount of intrusion to keep my warranty intact. Your recommendation is appreciated!!

Go with the PA D1000.1 if you do choose Polk because everything about it is better than the 880, circuitry, class D, MOSFET, distortion at rated power etc.

And there you go, see, that didn't hurt. I have to find a shop and installer and then WE can consider that a good well done. Another F-150 has been saved.
