Default Ipod connections

Need a way to connect iPod to my 04 f150. Had a radio interference or something that interfere's with the station that is on.. But that had really bad quality. No cassette player.. Don't really want to buy a whole new radio. but if I have to what's the best kind to get?

I did this on my old '04. Do you have the stereo that has an "aux" button? And when you push it, it says "no aux audio?"

If you do I may be able to help. Have to find the adapter I got for it

I'm not sure now. I'll check and get back here sometime tomorrow. If so could you tell me what adapter it is?

I'm still working on finding the part. As I did this about 3 years ago. And I traded in my 04 last year.

But basically you NEED to have that aux button give you a "no aux audio" message or something like that. If it does nothing, which I think some do, you can not do it.

All it was, was an adapterthat plugged into the back of the stereo, and makes that "aux" button active. The other side of the part is 2 female RCA cables, left/right. I went to radio shack, and got a female headphone input jack(make sure its stereo not mono) that outputted to 2 male RCA cables as well. Plugged those into the female RCAs on the adapter, and you have an ipod input. I drilled a hole around where the cig lighter was, put a rubber grommet around the headphone jack, and fed it thru the dash. Looked factory. I bet you could just get a newer 04-08 body style dash tray. They already have the aux input.

You can pick up a removable face Kenwood at Best Buy for $150 that opens up and your ipod goes inside and it is not visable. It charges the ipod while it is playing and you control the ipod with the heaad unit controls.
