Default HU Wiring harness for 2012 STX

No premium audio, no nav, no sync, no joy.

I'm trying to find the wiring harness adapter to go from the factory harness to an aftermarket head unit. It should be simple as this is a no-frills installation, right?

Of course I'll probably find a host of issues once I actually start the install but I really don't need much from the OEM system other than +/-, aux power, speakers, antenna, and maybe illumination. The aux input would be nice too but I don't expect that to be too difficult.

The HU I'm planning on buying is a JVC KWNT-700.

Thanks! (And yes, I did a search but it proved unproductive.)

Did you check with Crutchfield? Send an email to an advisor and they should be able to tell you.

I used their "what fits my vehicle" page and nothing came up.

I'm actually very surprised. I like to get the wiring harness, solder everything up inside to the head unit and then just go out to the truck and plug it in. I can cut/splice/solder wires from the man stereo harness if I have to but I prefer plug-and-play if at all possible.

Right now it just means I don't spend a grand on stereo equipment. :-p

Unfortunately there is no simple harness for this truck. The piece you need is what we call a Factory Integration Module. We do offer it for Half Price when you purchase a head unit from us. For free we include the Master sheet and antenna adapter which is needed. Also lifetime tech support.

I am happy to share with you any of the install sheets ahead of time if you want to check them out.

Since the new F-150's have the MSCAN bus, it's not quite as simple as it used to be still no big deal just a little more time.

BTW I also went through our fit finder to see what happened. I now see why you missed it, I will get it fixed to prevent it from happening in teh future. Thanks for the input.

Thanks, Jeff.

The thing I don't understand, in my "basic" F150, all I really need to do is drive some speakers and pick up some radio reception and play some CDs and have NAV. The truck shouldn't care about any of that.

Of course, it does. And, of course, I'm over simplifying. The VSS circuit, illumination, etc are all "computer" controlled now. Effers.

My last install was in my '04 F150. Pretty simple with a $20 wiring harness and my time. This BS interface stuff is a little discouraging. I'm a techno-geek by trade anyway and don't have any problems with car electrical (except those damn parasitic drain issues...) But it seems like nothing is as simple as +/- 12v anymore.

So yeah, it looks like $129 (MSRP) for the interface (or half if I buy the receiver from Crutchfield) along with a bunch of other crap.

Any idea if the stock Sirius/XM antenna will work through this interface? I'd really prefer not to have to run another one.
