2011 F-150 XL backup camera and DVD receiver install

Proud owner of a new-to-me 2011 F-150 XL with the HD Payload Package, integrated factory radio.

I bought the Crux CFD-03F tailgate handle camera and a Pioneer AVH-X2600BT.

The harness adapter from Crutchfield appears to have all the wiring connections. I read somewhere on here that the newer trucks use data to turn on the radios? I see both yellow and red wires in the harness adapter so perhaps that's after 2011.

Based on forum reading I've found these options:
Power for camera: reverse lights, head unit power, or trailer wiring harness
Head unit reverse input: reverse lights, trailer wiring harness, or split a wire in the cab

Thoughts on the above options?

Looks like thanks to CAN bus I need to buy an additional adapter to get it to turn on or splice into accessory power. The good news is that those adapters also give me the necessary aux connection, parking brake, and reverse I wanted. The bad news is that if my new stereo draws up to 10 amps and the adapter outputs 1-3 amps (depending on model), I need to add a fuse and wire up a relay.

All you need to do is run your switched lead to the fuse box. There is a fuse there that will give you the delayed turn off like the factory radio
