2010 SuperCrew Underseat Box Help
Whats up guys Just wanted to say Im new to the forum and this is my first pick up truck. I have had it for about 4 months now, and I do not think I can drive anything else from this point on. Always wanted one, and glad I finally left my cadillacs.
Onto topic. I recently blew my solo 12" alpine type R. And a friend of mine dropped some Punch 8" speakers (3) in a sealed box. I have been running a single 12" for 6 years now. I love the punch. I have never ran anything more or less. Its perfect for me. Now I have these 8's in my first sealed box. It is no where near what I am used to. SO i have been thinking that maybe building an under seat box ported. Im thinking this should give me the desired pressure and sound I am looking for. I need some help guys. I have never built a speaker box before, but I am very hands on. I need some help with dimensions and what not. I am looking for some help from someone that really understands speakbox volume and what not. |

They should fit and running 3 - 8's will give you twice the sub area of 1 - 12.

Twice sub area? So meaning they shoukd be louder based on that?. But what about measurements for a ported box. Can some with the experience give me actually volume numbers

Never really knew HOW the subs hit, just saw something, liked it, bought it, paid to have it installed, and went from there. Now with this being my first truck I want to be hands on.
Want to start with the speaker box first. I like the underseat vs center console, plus under seat looks "easier" to make. So with you figuring out the cone area, and owning an f150. is ported box possible with 3 of these RFs? |

You can't compare displacement based on diameter. At a minimum you need to compare SD (cone area), furthermore you should compare swept volume (VD) - cone area multiplied by x-max times two (since x-max is given as a one-way measurement).
