'17 300A stereo upgrade recommendations?
Have a '17 300A with the basic 4.2" screen and audio that I'd like to upgrade to sound decent.
I just really noticed how awful it is when my work just got the lowest trim Dodge 5500 work truck and the sound system beats the **** out of my 300A. The 5500 has amazing bass compared to my truck, I can't even tell there is any bass in mine.
I had a '15 302A before and it has a decent sound system. Does the 302A have a better quality system then the 300A?
Looking for some input and recommendations
Thanks

If I had it do over again??
I'd upgrade the speakers and install a powered sub behind the seat and leave it at that. You can do that with a minimum of time, effort, and ordering. There's plenty of threads about each of those.
I've added two amps, the PAC dash kit, a Kendwood GPS head unit, an unpowered sub and oodles of wires and filters. Larger screen, GPS and Apple Carplay aside, I don't think that I benefited much. The factory head unit sounded pretty good even amped up.
It gets expensive in a hurry to really step up and, as I found out, you're assuming some risks and the support network isn't as well developed as with the simpler things.
But that's just this feller's opinion.

What do you want to gain with the upgrade? If it is just bass, add a powered sub. There are several options, including the kicker upgrade.
I wanted to get a bigger screen so I went with the pac dash kit and an alpine head unit. With the stock speakers, it is still an improvement, but my '16 Silverado work truck still has more bass. I will add a sub, but I may change all the speakers and add a couple of amps too.
Whichever way you want to go, this forum was the only place I recieved any help! As Longbedbob said, the support network is not well developed when you start swapping head units.
