Default problem with 2008 f150 radio

I installed a sony stereo in my 2008 ford f150 because the display on the stock radio wasn't working. The sony radio works fine except for when you turn the power off it wont save anything, so when you turn the truck back on the presets and clock will all need reset. I had the radio in my other truck and it works fine there so i know that its not the radio. I have also replaced the wiring harness and the wiring that plugs into the radio and it still doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the constant power is not connected. (Light Green Violet)

Check fuses and test constant wire w/a voltmeter.

does anyone know how to remove the door molex on an 07. its been really pissing me off! i know how to disconnect the plug, but i cant find a way to pop out the white female part. there seems to be no way. ive decided to just drill a hole and run speaker wire through the metal of the door instead and just rubber grommet it. but this solution seems hack. ive searched everywhere and no good articles on it! help!!!!

GREAT thread!

I have a 2004 F150 Lariat SCREW with the audiophile and DVD rail system. I'd like to change the head to the Kenwood DDX719 unit and keep the stock DVD. Earlier in the thread, you mention PIE unit, but I've read that that is for the 2005 and newer models. I just want to confirm the PIE unit will work before I get hundreds of dollars in and regret it. Also, I have steering wheel controls, will there be any conflicts? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Just to add to my previous post, I just got off the phone with PIE and they said there was something unique about the 2004s that make their item not work. I wasn't really following, but does that make sense?

Does anyone have any suggestions for mounting an amp under the passenger seat? I'm trying to clean up my install and hide the wires better.
Thanks

Not sure exactly what your looking for suggestion wise, you can cut holes in the carpeting at each connection and it normally ends up looking pretty clean. Make sure you run the RCAs away from or perpendicular to the power/ground. Should be able to ground to a seat or seat belt bolt.

Behind the rear seat back in the Screw/Scab is definitely the best place to hide them.

One thing to keep in mind is clearance...there are airbag wires under the seat and moving the seat back and forth could easily fray or pull the plug for that airbag sensor. I recommend installing it behind the rear seat its a real P.I.T.A but well worth it IMO...out of the way and out of sight.

Additionally, hook a bass **** up so you can better control your gains. That's one thing I forgot to do and I'm not about to take that rear seat off again.

well everything was working perfectly, so i decided to just clean up my install. It looks great now, however it doesnt turn on! I put everything back where it was before so now I am really stuck. I am getting 14V across the B+ and Gnd, but 0V on the remote turn on. I don't know why it all of a sudden isn't getting the voltage to turn on.

Any tips?
thanks
