Hey Gator, I have an 05 Lariat Supercrew with the audiophile system. A few months ago I replaced the stock HU with the Pioneer AVH4400. It's and awesome head unit, but I just recently blew out the front passenger side speaker. Any recommendations on speakers that can handle the added bass from the updated HU? Thanks in advance!

Ha, Always wondered what those wires under the backseat were doing just sitting there.. all exposed, lonely, and wanting to be plugged in to something... Well-played previous owner, well-played!!

I posted as a new topic but looks like I should have posted here. I have a 2005 with the audiophile system. I'm just wondering if there is anything that has come out since the OP posted this that will work with iPhone 5. I called www.pie.net and they said the only device that will work is the FRD-AUX. Does anyone know if anything else has come out?

Also, for those that have installed this in your truck, where do you run the line out to the iPhone/iPod? And, how long of a line did you need?

Thanks.

Okay I read through this whole post and didn't see my question,

I have an 04 lariat with audiophile and my sub is not turning on, I checked my subwoofer fuse, also verified power at amp. Ohmed out sub, everything checked good...

How often do these Amos take a crap?
My stereo sounds like a tin can, I hate it.

Thanks a lot guys!

Default Aftermarket amp help

I have a 2008 F150 XLT Super cab. It has the 6 disk cd/mp3 player. No nav or satellite.

I am trying to use the rear speaker wires for a high level input to a MTX RT2200 to power a 10" sub. The problem is when I hook up the high level inputs, the radio will turn on but I get no sound. If I disconnect the negative speaker wires from the amp then it works. I have also tried a different amp and a LOC. It all does the same thing. With just the positives hooked up it works. I tapped into the wires under the trim by where the rear door closes. Something is not right. I have tried many different things with no luck and I cant find any info on this issue.

Hmm... Is the amp set to use the line level inputs rather than low level rca?

Most should detect it automatically - maybe try disconnecting the rem wire (blue) - some will see the line level inputs and turn on with those and don't need a rem.

Just to be clear.... Is the small 16 pin plug not used when using an aftermarket radio?

What small 16 pin plug?

An aftermarket radio would need an adapter that converts from that plug to the after market standard.
