Default 2001 Harley Davidson Edition Speaker Recommendation

looking to upgrade my stereo in the next few months, narrowed it down to Kenwood DPX500BT http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DPX5...ing%7cBuilt-in ...wanting to go ahead and upgrade my door speakers too... what's a good replacement in the $100 - $125 range? I have an old MTX RT 2200 amp (I think that's the model)... eventually I'll probably add a sub, but I'd like a nice balanced sound, good mids and highs, decent bass. thanks in advance
Ryan

that's kind of what I've been seeing, probably the kappa's... do you think it would make a big difference with the amp as apposed to just running them off of the HU?

I would run them off hu power to see if you will be happy. I think you will be.

the more I research, the more I think I may want to go with a component system... I know that's a bit more than my budget, but I could maybe get the front and get some coaxials later for the rear... I really just want something that is balanced well because I probably won't run a sub for a while and I want some decent bass, from what I've read 6.5 are a little bassier than the 6x8... I'm I right?

A round speaker normally sounds better than an oval but really depends on the quality of the speaker. People also say that components also demand more power than singles and sound best with an amp. I would try the coaxial in the front and see what you think. You can always move them to the rear.

I went ahead and order the reference 6x8 from Amazon, just one set, going to run them off the factory HU until after Christmas when I can get the new HU... I had a $50 gift card from Amazon, so I only end up with $5 in them after shipping and tax...
