Default '10 F150 King Ranch - aftermarket stereo?

Hey guys. Recently got a 2010 King Ranch with the factory navigation system, but the screen is somehow shattered. The cheapest one I've been able to find at a junkyard is $600, and honestly I'm not fond of the MyTouch system in these. Since the climate control is built in to the navigation system, is there any way to replace it with a climate control panel and upper screen from a lower-trim F150 (Lariat) and use those with an aftermarket head unit? I've done some searching around and although the mounting points seem to be the same, the plugs going into the Lariat climate control panel are different than the ones going into the KR nav unit. Is there a way to make this work?

Not that I am aware of. There was a video showing that they used a regular aftermarket dash kit and was able to use it with a little fab work.

it actually says that it is not compatible, the only option is to custom make a kit using the x009U.

I just did it last night in my 2012, using a idatalink Maestro RR, Kenwood DMX905S Head Unit, and Scosche dash kit... I had to make some aluminum plates for a place to secure the radio, and modifiy the dash opening a bit... But it can be done, and I gained extra gauges and TPMS monitoring for all 4 tires.

The only thing I can't seem to make work is the reverse camera

I am actually working on a youtube video for the whole thing as a how-to type guide... I started making a channel with various how-tos, and just completed a comprehensive BOV replacement guide...

I wanted to complete it after I got the reverse wires figured out... Although (from other forums) the White/green and Brown/Violet wires are there, I spliced into them and it did NOT give me video. I tried the similar wires in the 16 pin plug with the same result...

Next post will be a few pictures/screen grabs
