Yep. Another Newb

Hello all. I just picked up this 09 this weekend:

2009 FX4 5.4L 3.73

You can see the reason why parked right next to it. I've always been a Toyota fan but my 06 V8 4Runner just couldn't handle the sail. Couldn't get my hands on a Tundra CrewMax 5.7L in my price range and I had just spent Labor Day weekend visiting my brother who ownes a 2012 F-150 that I made the mistake of test driving a couple of times.

This one is in near pristine condition and comes with the Max Tow package, 36 gallon gas tank, power everything and all the bells and whistles. Might as well be a Lariat except it doesn't have the Xenon head lights. Honestly, it has the best suspension in any truck I have ever owned making driving it a real pleasure. Still playing with all the Sync system features and trying to figure out a way to get my hands on the nav map updates without spending $150 since I am not sure how much I like the interface. I know, I know I'm just being cheap but at that price range I can buy a brand new Garmin with life time updates and call it a day.

This is my 2nd foray into the Ford world. My first experience was a disaster. It was an 04 F250 6.0L diesel that cost me as much to fix as I paid for it before I traded it in on an 06 Tundra some years back. Fortunately I learned from my mistakes and after careful research ended up with the FX4. No diesel sounds coming from under the hood (phasers), it's been fully inspected and all the maintenance is up to date, and a 3yr/36k warranty honored at any Ford dealership to catch any gotchas.

Lots more still to learn and every time I would do a google search this forum kept popping up with the answers so it was a no brainer to join in. Well, that's my intro and now it's time to go lunch and enjoy some more time in the cockpit of the FX4.

Welcome Vanion! Great to hear your back in a Ford and loving it! Have you looked into any improvement mods like a tune?

No mods yet planned. Still learning about the installed features. For example, I get to learn how to remove one of the air actuators because it just started doing the clicking noise. Hopefully that's the only gremlin I have to chase down though.
