Well I changed it again today regardless lol. I'm gonna keep with the every 3000 because when I bought the truck from the dealer it came with a 3-year warranty with stipulations that I must prove the oil was changed every 3000 miles. I was just really trying to find out if this would actually cause harm

I'm guessing you own one of the previous gen of F150s?

Wouldn't see why the dealer would force you into prematurely changing your oil in order to keep that warranty. Did you ask why?

iIt's because the vehicle is pre-owned and the warranty is 3rd party not Ford. 3-year Powertrain Warranty

Necro time......so I am at just under 3200 miles on current change and the OLM is at 68%. Will look at it again at 4000 and again at 5000. Depending on the life at the 5K point I will decide whether to change or not or wait until I hit 15K-miles which would be 6K-miles on current change. The objective is to get on a 5K cycle for oil changes. At that point I will then rotate tires as well (which I normally do on all 3 trucks at 6K-mile intervals.
