Default Will changing the oil too often be bad?

So I read online and few other places ( not the most credible of sources) that oil takes awhile to stabilize and changing it too much can be harmful. These is bad news for someone like me who lives to maintain his vehicles. So I change my oil every 3000 miles like all the fake rules say to do ; however, my manual says every 5000 miles and I use Mobil One full synthetic which is guaranteed for 15000 miles. My question is , is it okay to keep doing this just because it makes me happy or will it cause problems in the long run?

I change every 3000 as well; three trucks two of them not F150s. Regardless, that is what I have been doing since age 16 and don't intend to change that any time soon. Only exception is when I make the annual pilgrimage to Camp Perry. Then on the F150 it will be at a 6K interval.

Running Valvoline full synthetic in all three. Keep in mind I live in AZ and alternate my time between the high desert country to the Phoenix metro area. So it's generally a dry dusty climate with temperature extremes ranging from the very low teens (and on occasion lower) to well in excess of 100 degrees.

The one truck is at 269K and I would still drive it across the country tonight without giving it a second thought. My vehicles are very well maintained.

So I wouldn't worry about it.

You're over-thinking it. If you're using synthetic, and like to change at 3k, you don't have to freak out if you go over a few hundred miles. Personally... I do mine at every 4-5k.

My dumb answer you don't want to hear : Change it as per the owner's manual frequency or when the ''oil service'' thing appears... I'd stick to what the engineers are recommending.

If it makes you happy to throw away $ from the window, keep doing it! It will not cause any problems...

So FWIW I change oil every 3K. Current non F150 vehicle is a 1999 Honda Civic with 250,000+ on the clock, and still getting oil changed every 3k (no engine work other than timing belts every 100K). Yes, it's a Honda, but you can not go wrong (ever) with clean oil.

I don't change mine until the oil life meter tells me it's time.

I do believe that oil change frequency for 6th gen Civics according to maintenance schedule were around 3k miles (well, here in Canada at least - gotta love those harsh winters).

The fact is that engines have evolved and modern ones can run oil much more longer than they used to.

Oil has evolved as well. OP I know its piece of mind for you doing 3k OCI, but you are only wasting your own money. Not knocking it or anything, just saying.
