What does everyone do for a living? Where do you live?

I'm a stay at home dad to our two kiddos, 5 years and 6 weeks. I am a license physical therapist assistant and worked in a clinic and in home health prior to staying at home with our kids which I started doing almost 3 years ago.
Just bought a new 2017 F150. Have had a 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013 and now this one. After the 2008 I swore I'd never buy another one because it had an awful (and never solved) engine knock so we traded for the 2011 with the first gen ecoboost. And then I swore I'd never buy another ecoboost, but the new 10 speed is unreal ! So here I am. Joined here to look into the topper thread.

Hey everyone,
I'm a former Marine (yes,VietNam in 69') worked structural steel about 9 years, got a little education then worked at NCR about 17 years; got the RIF package, worked for the state of Georgia 11 as a Y2K project manager and a program management consultant. Finally retired.
OK, the important stuff. I got this old 97 F150 extended cab I'm working on for one of my grandkids who's about to turn 16. He wants a truck, the other 6 want, Lexus, BMW, caddy, mercedes, porsche, so I fixen a truck.
I'm somewhat of a motor-head so I understand the language and how most stuff works; what I don't know much about is trucks and what parts can be interchangeable by year. Yes, and also hints on fixing all the under-the-hood stuff that's about to break.
Sorry for the epic autobiography but that's what old people do. I look forward to it.

Just joined this forum ..... I retired 2 months ago from the Toronto Fire Department, after working there for just under 32 years ..... I live about an hour north of Toronto , with my wife and 2 teenage boys, along with an assortment of critters , some with feathers, some with fur ....
Last week , I treated myself to a new 2017 F150 XLT 2.7 supercrew sport ... I haven't even taken delivery yet, but I'm super excited to get going in it ..... Cheers !

I'm a newbie..
..first forum I've ever enrolled in.
I'm an old guy! My last truck (Ford F150, of course) was a 2002 stepside/flareside (if they're synonymous??). It's still running with ab 192K miles, but the shortbed is severely rusting out (even though I had a plastic liner on it with a lid that I intermittently had covering bed/liner). When I bought truck new I said it would be my last, but unfortunately (for myvwide) I've outlived the truck! So a week ago I bit the bullet and went for a 2016 leftover Supercrew with 5.5' bed.
Enough about truck for now. In spite of being old (I know, a relative term) I'm still working after 46 years with federal government. I need to remain employed to feed my addictions (all legal, but nonetheless costly, like buying new trucks). In closing, I was kidding about my wife. In addition to being saintly, she uttered not a peep about me buying the new truck. Well...I didn't tell her exactly what it cost! I believe this will be my last truck. Sound familiar. BTW, I'm from NJ.
