Default Truck writer in Florida

I'm glad to be a part of this forum. As a Ford owner for several years--from my first car, a 1965 Mercury Comet to my current 1997 Super Cab F150 and 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer--I look forward to learning even more about the Big Blue Oval's workhorse through this forum.

I'm currently taking on two codes in my F150: P1537 and P1538 on a 4.2-liter V6. The truck has a hard time getting out of its way. Initial start-up is rough. After it warms up, it idles okay and revs up fine. But as soon as you put it into gear and give it some gas, it hesitates and runs really rough. I'm trying to get the truck ready for my son, so it's a big goal of mine to tackle this problem. I'm aware of the infamous o-ring issue with the intake; that's on my to-do list as well.

When I'm not wrenching around or spending time with the family, you'll probably find me at a computer, where I write for Hard Working Trucks and The Washington Times. Talk to you later
