Default From RAM to F-150 - MAYBE?

Well, 1 year ago, I bought a 2012 Dodge Ram, Hemi, 4x4, 3.92, 6-speed. I really liked it. Then started having some issues. Engine knocking, transfer case grinding. Well, the RAM was in the shop for 72 days in the first 5 months. 3 engines, 1 transfer case, 1 front axle. After all that? Problems still exist, and RAM refuses to continue fixing them. So, I applied for CAMVAP (Arbitration), and finally, after 1 year, I WON! Chrysler Canada is ordered to buy back my RAM for FULL price, no reductions. They have 21 days to comply!

Here's the RAM:

And the good news? Today I put in a factory order for a 2013 F-150, 5.0L, 4x4, FX-4, 3.73, Ingot Silver. The deal is contingent on Chrysler Canada following through with the reward.

Here's a pic of a similar truck:

So, I'll keep updated this thread with my progress. I'm sure it will go through.. but you never know the **** that Chrysler Canada does...

Default Good for you!

On applying for CAMVAP. Never, ever been a Chrysler fan (always, always, ALWAYS cheaper built) but will admit some of their past engineering (original Hemi, alternator, electronic ignition & spark control) is impressive. Just not lately. Hemi trucks getting 36mpg???? Right up there w/ a Duramax pulling a ship (that's SHIP) up onto a beach. At least one knew GM wasn't serious. You'll appreciate the Ford even more when trade in time rolls around again.

Good thing you got those ********s to pay out. There's a guy on here that went through 4 ecoboost engines and the dealer wouldn't give him fair trade in value on the truck because of its problems.

Yup.. I read the whole thread! LOL

I used that argument are part of my presentation. Because of my extensive repair history, dealerships will NEVER give me the resale value that it should be worth. Also, because of my repair history, and because all the dealerships mingle amongst themselves, there are 2 dealerships in my city that refuse to look at my truck.

So.... 18 more days for them to call me and tell me where to drop this POS off.

I've also decided to NOT drive my truck during these 18 days, just in case something happens (accident, dents), in case Chrysler refuses to receive it. Chrysler will do ANYTHING to not buy this truck back. So, here it sits in my garage, untouched for 1 week.

I also changed my factory order to the 20" wheels, and all-terrain tires!

What part of Ontario are you from? Your F150 won't disappoint. Mine hasn't seen the dealer lot since I drove it off.

Default Bad PR

I'm not anti-Dodge at all. I like how they actually give buyers a meaningful choice in colors, for example. My limited experience owning a Ramcharger was just fine. Still, when Fiat takes over your company and the quality goes up, that's pretty sad.

When the leveraged buyout guys were running the company they were just shameless. There are a bunch of court cases around the country where they tried to put in for a refund of the sales tax on all the cars they were having to buy back. So far as I know, they lost every one.

Would you do that? Press the point about how you are due a refund for your crappy products until an appellate court puts the case in the law books for all the world to see forever?

Here's one from Connecticut for almost 700 cars they had to buy back in that one state alone!

Never had my Ram spend a single night at the shop, and never had any issue that wasn't a factory recall. I don't blame you, I'd jump ship too, and probably wouldn't return for a decade or more, if ever.
