Chattanooga Noobie
Hey everyone, I am a Noobie. I inherited my 04 FX4 Regular cab back in 2005. I left it in the garage for 2 years with just driving around the neighborhood once a week to keep the battery and fluids ok. I have just now gotten it out on the road and putting some miles on it. When I got it it had 3500 miles on it. I just now broke 26,000. Loving every minute of it. I have put an Airaid Cold Air Intake on her. I am getting ready to put high output headlights in her. I want just the replacement bulbs and can not find them anywhere in town. If anyone has an idea here in chattavegas I would appreciate the help. The Mods that were already done on mine when I got it was a line X bed liner with a rubber mat on top of that. An Access Tonneau cover, and a flowmaster cat back exhaust with dual tips. I have blacked the windows out and put in a full Catch-All Floor mat. I need some more Ideas to Make it more fuel Efficient.

Welcome to the boards. Mods don't really make your truck fuel efficient enough to warrant modding for that reason alone. A tuner would be a GREAT addition to your truck since you already have the CAI and exhuast. My suggestion would be an Xcal III or Livewire with Troyer custom tuning, but the Xcal III will set you back $450 and the Livewire costs $650. They'll both give you a little better fuel mileage, but on the order of 1-2 mpg's, so it'll take you several years in fuel savings to recoup the initial money spent on the tuner.
If you want increased HP, throttle response and performance then get a tuner, but don't do it looking for extra fuel efficiency.

thank you for the info. I will look into the tuner. The Next question I have is about the Leveling kits. After installation does the truck align back to factory specs. See I also have a 2000 Xterra and Did a 3" suspension kit under it and will never go back to spec. unless I go back to stock. I have been looking at the spacers for the 150 and just need more input. I have read this forum pretty extensivly but never found anything on the alignment. I have seen guys have to align it and some that did not have to align. Just curious.

After you install a leveling kit you HAVE to have your truck aligned. Well worth the investment though because you can throw some bigger rubber on your truck afterwards.
