New from Truckee/Lake Tahoe - CA
Just picked up a 2012 FX4 with EcoBoost, Lux, Nav, Max-tow and 20's 3 weeks ago. Technically the wife's ride, as we traded in her 2011 Audi Q5 for the Ford. However, I'm finding it fun to drive for the time being.
We decided to get it because we upgraded our Travel Trailer/Camper. The issue is we went from a 80" wide trailer to a 96" trailer with 3' more length. Our tow vehicle up to that point, my 2011 Range Rover Sport, was ok with the skinny trailer, but with more length and width, it's wheelbase and narrow track made in unsuitable for comfortable towing. The 5.0 ltr Jaguar engine pulls just fine, but even with extended mirrors, and WD hitch, sway bar, it was not fun.
Wife never was in love with the Audi, so we traded it for the F150. So far, just added a solid tri-fold tonneau and carpeted bed. May look into air-bags but there's not much more it needs.
With Ford's recent incentives and lease deals, we got $6k off msrp and the lease deal. Went from a $765/mo Audi payment to $488/mo payment, no cash transaction. Audi had some equity to cover drive off.
