New Truck

New Truck
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought a new to me 2011 XLT SCREW Sterling Gray. The truck so far is great. I am coming from a 2000 Chevy Silvearado that I had for 13 years and 220K miles. Chevy's were way to expensive, almost went nissan and then found my truck exact color 5.0, 30k miles and not much else.
I use the truck to tow a boat (21' Mastercraft) and all kinda of other work. I use it mostly on my days off because I do have a work vehicle. Trying to find a stripped down model with the 5.0 was tough, heck you cant even find trucks with bench seats.
So far I love the truck. No major mods.....YET!

Thanks!
The mastercraft is fun its older 2001 PS205V. Bought it with a seized motor and put a new one crate engine in.....runs smooth. Total 175hrs on the boat.
If I knew how to post pictures on this site I would post the boat and the truck.

John, I have yet to tow with the truck I have only had it for 4 days. I do not tow to far. The truck did not come with the tow package (I dont know why they dont sell all trucks with them). That being said I just put a hidden hitch on the truck, mounted very well and took about 10 minutes to put on. I am waiting for my factory wiring harness to finsih it off for now.
I have to run the reverse ciruit from the engine bay due to the facto ford did not run it through the wiring harness to the rear, so not quiet plug and play. I got the information from the site it has helped incredibly.
I imagine the towing is going to be great with the power from the 5.0 and the six speed trans. I am excited I will keep you updated. But again it is not a real heavy tow being a smaller boat.

I have a 17.5 foot Bayliner that I towed with my 2003 Ranger 5 speed manual. Boat with full gas tank and gear was about 2300 pounds. I definitely knew that it was back there with the Ranger. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to use the boat since I got the new truck. But I imagine it will be quite effortless with the bigger truck.
