Exclamation New lady, new to Fords!

So I bought a 1984 F150, small block limited and, quite honestly I have no idea about this truck other than that I bought it on a whim because I couldn't stand to see it sold for parts! So I guess I got this app to see if I could find some help getting to know my truck! :-) any help/tutoring would be fabulous! Thank you!!

Thank you folks, I'm very proud of my truck! The only thing wrong with it is the battery, score!

Why was it being sold for parts when in such good shape?

Our son's best friend has an '84 too - he calls it the American Classic and they are tanks.
Here it is with mine.

I work for an auto wrecking company and we also do towing. We towed it for the local police. Driver was drunk and never paid the impound fees. So when we took it over, the company was going to just part it out! Fortunately while they were inventorying the truck, I spotted it and told my boss I wanted it! Straight body, interior not that bad considering the circumstances. A nice project for me :-)
So right now it's still in impound, I have to pay it off before I can take it away, but I got this forum app to try to learn more about them :-)
