Default New to site

Hi All:
I have a 1994 F150 4x4 and I thought joining the forum would help me keep up on maintenance, modifications and other goodies. I think my first project is to replace the clock spring. Is this something a professional needs to do?

I am not too sure about the level of difficulty to replace the clockspring.

I have heard that you can do it yourself, but should be very careful not to have the airbag discharge while you are doing it. It would probably be about
$200+ for a repair shop to do it for you. I think the part itself is about $100.

Default clock spring

Thanks for the info. I'm seem to get mixed results when I try to find out how to change the spring. Some say it's easy, other wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole. Your numbers seem to be right on! Just hate paying someone $200 if it's easy.....

Hey, Im new to the site too. I have the same deal, no horn and the 3-2 airbag code. I was told that the steering box had recently been replaced on my truck so Im guessing that they spun the wheel and broke the spring. I ordered mine online from here. http://www.carbodyparts.net/miscellaneous.html It was the best price I could find and its a dorman so it should be good. I should get it any day. Im gonna do it myself. I think the trick is to make sure you remove the negative battery cable for at least half an hour before removing the airbag. Seems like a fairly simple rerplacement. Good luck with yours.

Just a follow up on this. Do not order anything from carbodyparts.net. They are complete morons. they sent me a confirmation email on my order. I checked the status online and it listed nothing. I called after 9 days and they tell me they didnt have the part and canceled the order the day after I placed it. They never sent me any notification of this or list it as canceled on the website. Kept me waiting 9 days for nothing. Dont waste your time with these idiots.
