Default New Member - New to trucks as well

Hi everyone,
My name is Ian and I just got my first truck after years of owning Accords, Civics, Camry's................and a 93 Ranger. The Ranger, well, it was kinda like a jacked up El Camino, with the 2.3 I-4, 5 speed, 2 wheel drive, and no a/c (it was given to me in '04 and sits every winter). That thing started up every spring since '05 with no coercion, and I just sold it as part of buying my new used 2013 F-150 5.0 Lariat "Screw" as you guys call it lol. Anyway, although the Ranger is a Ford and made in America, I never used it as a daily, so I always disregarded it as vehicle that I owned. So now, I can say I'm a Ford owner after years of saying I would never own an American vehicle (for no real reason). Never say never. This thing was just too nice to pass up.

I've always liked the latest body style of the F-150, and truly never thought I would have one. So I get the thing, and I'm a pretty handy guy, and I have forum experience from motorcycles, and can turn a wrench on just about anything. So the first thing I noticed that didn't work was the rear window defrost. Go figure, there's a HUGE problem with the rear window. I bought it from a Toyota dealer (traded in the family Sienna for the truck ;-) ), so even with the 60 day warranty they gave me, I can't see them covering the entire rear window replacement. So I guess I'll have to decide if it's even worth it (the dealer is 45 minutes away). Anyway, glad to share my experiences with mine, and love to look through all the threads of your experiences. I have no interest in modding it, as it's gonna be the daily "family trip" vehicle, so I want to just make sure it stays healthy and works as it should. I've linked a couple pics. I'll be around.......

Thanks, I hope it serves me well. As far as the defrost and the warranty goes I’ll let them try and ficgure it out. I just got it Monday, it’s Friday now, and I don’t want to give it up lol.
