Smile New F150 Owner

Hey guys/gals,

Just bought an '07 2WD 5Speed. Done a few things to it. Fender flares, DIY intake & exhaust, DIY raptor style clearance lights, AVS headlight covers, Nightshaded tails and 3rd Brakelight. Once a bit more $ is saved on my part I would like to turn it into a daily driveable prerunner. I'm currently stationed in Minot, ND (USAF). But once my enlistment is up Dec '13, will be heading back home to Portland, OR. Hope to learn some valuable stuff and be inspired by you guys. In the mean time, does anyone on here fab prerunner bumpers?

Thank you for your service. I am a vet myself (Purple Heart, medically retired). Your truck is awesome. Great platform for a prerunner. Before I put RaceRunners up front, I had a leveling kit. I used a 3" kit to achieve a prerunner stance. It was about an inch to one and 1/4 higher than the back. Unfortunately, 2" won't do it. The leveling kit was fine but it was only temporary and I didn't take 'em off until it was time to modify the whole truck. Remember this for all future mods and changes: Build for functionality, not for looks (like 99.9% of built F150's out there). By building it tuff and functional, you will automatically get the look you're after. Don't wast your $$ on stuff that will break or fail. I know it's more expensive, but it is well worth it. Off roading kills trucks. Especially fast prerunning. If you are going to be bonzin' thru the desert or wherever, then don't make it look like a prerunner- make it a prerunner. You definitely have the right truck for an awesome 2wd runner. Here are some pics of my F1.New F150 Owner-phone-pix-669.jpg

Thank you for your service as well, sir. The leveling kit was more a means to just give my truck a better stance, and the ability to fit a more aggresive wheel/tire set for $45 until tax return time (when the real suspension will go on). I in no way had plans of making a fake prerunner, hah. I am well seasoned in the modification of vehicles, however this is my first truck, so don't be surprised if i have questions for you along the way. I love the look of your truck though, definitely an inspiration. Is that front bumper custom? Looks great. EDIT: Also, what are the details of your suspension setup? love the stance.

Thumbs up

Level'd! Now for tires, because it looks a bit disproportioned...
