2004 Emergency and foot brake wiring
Hi guys,
New member and would really appreciate anyone's help.
Bought an Alpine INA W900BT aftermarket head unit last week.
Hooked up this weekend and all went well, except for the fact that I need to splice into both brake signals in order to activate the menu functions and to disable the ability to "view" the DVD while driving. Too distracting. Can anyone tell me what color wires to look for and where is the best location to tap into these two connections? Hopefully there is an easy solution to this dilemma.
Went to Ford dealer to inquire about a wiring schematic for my truck, they told me it would be approx $82.00. Seems a little exorbitant. Just my humble opinion.
Thanks very much.

Bert,
Thanks for your suggestion. I did register on the Autozone website this afternoon and found the schematic. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure which wires should be connected as they are not labelled in layman's terms and I don't relish the thought of "splice and hope".
I walked into my local Ford dealer today and they recommended a third party audio installer. Needless to say, I am very dissappointed in their response. They are a Ford dealer and should know the diagram. Right?
Thanks again.

Welcome to the forums...lots of good guys and info here... be sure to post some pictures
is there a green wire coming from the head unit???... on my dvd cd jvs headunit im pretty sure that wire you are talking about is green... and what i did was grounded that green wire... what that wire does ..is it makes sure you are not watching a vide while driving down the road... its supposed to hook up to the emergency brake.. so when the E brake is applied it will allow you to watch the movie.......
hope this helps
