Hey Rob-I agree...great looking truck. I find it interesting to see you got yours at Apple Ford. I am from Des Moines, IA and the wife and I are thinking about taking a road trip to Apple this weekend to check out some 2011 Lariats they have there. Curious to hear about how they treated you. How willing are they to negotiate? The prices they have on the trucks I am interested in aren't bad as it is; I would just like to see if I can get them down a bit more. Another hitch in the whole thing is there is a 2011 Red Candy Metallic FX4 here in Des Moines that I'm considering as well. I just can't decide! Any thoughts from anyone here? Lariat or FX4? The FX has lower miles but the Lariats are priced a little lower. This will be my first full size truck and first Ford as well. I have been wanting an F150 for some time now. What would be your vote?

I picked a lariat as it is more luxury v fx4 which is a bit more sport/off road. I wear a suit to work and drive around some foofie rich folks occasionally so I needed the plush despite it being a truck that I can use as a truck on weekends to haul boat, cycle, yadda yadda. Lariats come fairly loaded base so there are just a few major packages to add to get towards a platinum, etc. also I have an Eco and some. Undies have the 5.0. You can read all about the different engine traits but both are solid engine and make the truck somewhat fast, efficient (if you keep your foot out of it) and tow better than any half ton truck on the market.

Thanks zx-that's what I was thinking as far as Lariat vs. FX4. It just differs from week to week what my taste prefers look wise. I like the chrome I can get on the Lariat one week. Sometimes I prefer the sporty look of the FX. One thing I have wondered about that I haven't yet researched is the price of the Rancho shocks the FX4's come equipped with in terms of replacement. I would assume they would recommend I replace with the factory Rancho's when that time comes. I also assume they cost more than what the Lariat is equipped with. None of the trucks I'm considering have the Navi. Sometimes I think that would be cool to have and sometimes I just think that's more to break....
