Lovin' My Truck!
Hey folks, just got a '07 F150 V8 Crew, can't believe I waited this long to get a truck.
Just letting you know I'm an old guy that is mechanically challenged so I'll be asking a lot of questions from the guys that are wise, also known as wise guys.

Hi snoopy, this will be primarily a personal work truck, meaning hauling the family, camping and beach gear around, or getting wood for Halloween and Christmas prop building. Since I live in SoCal where we're prone to wildfires and mudslides, I was going to lift it about 12" and get some slightly bigger tires. Wifeypoo says I have to install a ladder or rope for her small self to be able to ingress/egress. Tires are simple enough, but I have no idea where to start with the lift or how much it will run me.

Welcome to the forum..
Just curious, are you serious about lifting it 12"?
RIZE INDUSTRIES makes a 8" and 12" suspension lift for your truck.
You can run 40" tires.. anything under 37" tires would look silly on 12" lift.

RIZE 12" with the least options is going to run $6,500... and then if you have someone install it, plus labor..

RIZE 12" with 2.5 coilovers and remote for almost $9600..

Unless your dead set on 12" lift, you could get a 6" lift and 35" tires.. installed and everything for under $6000... That would do you fine offroad and getting to places.. In my opinion 12" seems a little expensive and unpractical for daily use.
Check out OGTerror's truck. He has 8" RIZE and he offroads like HARD. He has videos on youtube you can check out.

LOL - Now this is the kind of in-your-face feedback I need! I guess I really didn't know how much impact 12" would be. Can you believe I actually was thinking 18" at first? I know, crazy talk.
I guess my goal is just to get a slight lift through a combination of lift and tires - maybe just tires? I'm not really into the giant tires just for pooping around town, perhaps something a little bigger than what I got, but smooth enough for street driving making a quiet enough drive.
Thanks for the info and feedback, I'm a complete noob to all this.

Hi jlscott826, I'm not in a work field that requires a lift, I guess I just want a few more inches of clearance to get over curbs, fallen trees, rocks and mudslides, etc. for that 2% of the time I'll really need it.
